I worked on and completed this project in the lead up to the recent World Cup in Qatar which started this November. It is software which facilitates a game I created and ran for me and my friends to play throughout the tournament.

The game is based around the well-known game “Fantasy Football” but has some crucial changes which me and my friends feel make it more interesting and engaging to play. Primarily, the ability to buy "Packs" similar to those you would buy for Panini Sticker Books, Match Attax, or in EA Sports FIFA games. These Packs are the method through which the football player “cards” are acquired. Players then score points based on their real-life performances, which can then be used in turn to buy more packs - if desired.

The key requirements of the software are:
•    Load and store player data from a CSV file which I prepared.
•    Select 3 players using a probability distribution for the “Star” values.
•    Create 3 easy to understand “Cards” showing all the player information. These being: (Country Flag / Stars / Name / Positions)
•    Allow 1 player to be “Taken” and added to the “Squad”.
•    Only allow a certain amount of information points to be revealed before the user must select which player to “Take”
•    Allow the information on these cards to be revealed and animated in an exciting and suspenseful fashion.
•    Look pleasing and satisfying to open the “Packs”.
•    Include Qatar related theming/music to tie into the tournament better.
•    Have appropriate sound effects to support the software.
